Terms Of Service
Last updated: September 08, 2026
These terms cover your use of Purcel Diet. Using the app means you accept them. They are written to be read, not skipped.
Who may use it
You must be 18 or older. This is not a formality: the app works out calorie targets, and it produces none at all for anyone younger. If you are under 18, do not create an account.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has it. What happens under your account is yours. You can start without one — the app lets you log a day first and sign up afterwards — and that temporary diary is yours to claim or to lose if you never do.
What this app is
A diary and a calculator. You record what you ate and what you weigh; it adds them up and sets them against a target it worked out from what you told it about yourself.
What it is not
It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment. The target is an estimate, produced by a standard formula from the height, weight, age, sex and activity level you entered. It is not a prescription, and it knows nothing about you that you did not type.
The app refuses rather than bends. It will not produce a daily target below 1,200 kcal for a woman or 1,500 kcal for a man, it produces no target at all under the age of 18, and it rejects a height and weight whose combination is not physically plausible. Those refusals are deliberate. They are a floor, not a setting, and there is no way around them in the app.
If you have or have had an eating disorder, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or live with a condition that what you eat affects — diabetes, kidney disease, a food allergy — talk to a clinician before following any calorie target, and follow their number over the one here.
The app is not for emergencies. If you need urgent help, call your local emergency number.
The nutrition figures
Food figures come from public nutrition databases and from what people — you included — type off packets. They can be wrong, they can be out of date, and they can describe a different version of the same product sold somewhere else. Where the number matters, read the packet. Every food says where its figures came from, so you can weigh them.
If a figure is wrong, report it from the food itself. Reports are read.
What you write
The foods, recipes, notes and photos you create stay yours. You give us only what running the app needs: permission to store them, to show them back to you, and — if and only if you choose to share one — to show that one to the people you shared it with.
What is not allowed
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. Do not submit or upload anything illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening or sexually explicit; anything promoting self-harm or disordered eating; anything impersonating another person; nutrition figures you know to be false; or an image you have no right to use. None of that earns a warning first.
If you see something that breaks this, report it. Every food carries a Report control, and you can write to us directly. Reports are read within 24 hours, and anything breaking these terms is removed and the account behind it dealt with: dev@gg.md
An account that contributes objectionable content, or abuses other people, is blocked from contributing. Its foods and its photos stop reaching anybody else and nothing it submits counts toward what other people see. Serious or repeated cases lose the account outright. A blocked account keeps its own diary and keeps its line to us open, so a wrong call can be argued.
Availability
The app is offered as it is. It can change, features can arrive and leave, and it can be unavailable — planned or not. Nothing here promises uptime. If the app is ever discontinued you will be told in time to download your data, which you can do at any moment from Settings.
Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings, and it takes everything with it. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided as it is and without warranty, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it — including a decision you make about food, exercise or weight on the strength of a number it showed you. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Language
These terms are published in several languages. The translations are there to be read; where they differ, the English text is the one that governs.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. A material change will be said plainly.
